Short answers about tipping and splitting the bill.
Amounts use exact decimal math. Tax is rounded to the nearest cent first (half-up), then the tip is calculated and rounded to the nearest cent, then the total is split. Amounts may use at most two decimal places. This follows the bill’s written currency units — not every country’s cash-rounding rules (for example, some places round cash to 5 cents).
These are suggested presets, not required tips. Habits vary by venue. US and Canadian guidance commonly uses the pre-tax subtotal. UK, Australian, German and French presets use the bill total with included taxes; no national tax rate is assumed.
Check your bill for an included gratuity or service charge before adding an extra tip. A service charge is not always the same as a tip; ask the restaurant if unsure. We never automatically add or subtract a service charge.
The currency label, suggested percentages, default tip and tip basis change. Your bill amount, tax entry values and number of people remain. Extra tax is reset to none; re-enable an amount or rate explicitly if needed. Currency display only — no conversion.
The total with tip is divided exactly in minor currency units. We show who pays an extra 0.01 when needed. Round up per person rounds each share to whole currency units and adds the difference to the tip.
